Six Activities for Your Spring Break Staycation

Spring break travel is fun, but sometimes a trip just isn’t in the cards. With the right activities, you can turn your spring break at home into a staycation full of fun! Read on for a few of our favorites.

Have a picnic.

Make the most of spring weather by planning an outdoor picnic at a local park. Grab a quilt and fill a picnic basket with your favorite foods. Then head to your go-to spot to enjoy a leisurely meal in the great outdoors.

You may not be able to go on an overnight trip, but you probably have time to get out of your hometown for the day to go to the lake or beach, on a hike or to check out a nearby attraction. Pick a spot an hour or two away, grab your favorite snacks and hit the road for your quick getaway!

Do some gardening.

Spring is a great time to sow the seeds for a summer vegetable or herb garden. Put your green thumb to the test by picking up a few vegetable planters or tilling up a garden patch in your yard. Then, head to your local gardening center to grab seeds and supplies to get you started.

Go to the library.

Take advantage of your extra time by taking a trip to the library and picking up a few books. Spend the next few hours reading them in one of your favorite spots like a coffee shop, park or your own cozy couch.

Plan a movie night.

Plan an evening cozied up on the couch with movies you’ve wanted to watch or a few of your old favorites. Don’t forget the snacks!

Bring the beach to your backyard.

You may not be able to get to the coast, but you can enjoy some of your coastal favorites right in your own back yard! Set up an outdoor chair or blanket to lounge on and catch some rays, whip up your favorite tropical drink and play some ocean wave sounds to make you feel like your toes are in the sand.

It’s hard to beat a spring staycation full of fun, relaxing activities, but there is one way to make it better – pick up Lee’s! Whether you pick up some classic chicken for a picnic, Spicy Jumbo Dippers for a road trip or a Surf & Chirp Combo for the backyard beach day, Lee’s will bring flavor to your springtime fun. Find a location near you.
